I know guns aren’t the WHOLE problem, but not ten minutes ago my six-year-old asked me to let him download an iOS game whose self-described top feature is “15 Killer Weapons”.

So I reminded him that we don’t download games with guns - we never have. And you know what he said to me?

“Mommy, a blaster’s not the same thing as a gun.”

What the actual fuck? Where did he hear that? I don’t want to live in a world where that’s a thing first graders say.

Also, really looking forward to reading The Monster Hunter. It’s transferring to my Nook as we speak. 

Yes, it’s terrible we have to live in a world where a first-grader has a better grasp of fantasy-vs.-reality than their parent.

Now he gets to spend the rest of his school years being that kid with the weird parents that can’t tell the difference between games and real life.
